Geneva Dowden Harris, age 74, of Yellville, passed away Friday, July 13, 2012 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
She was born April 15, 1938 in Natchitoches, Louisiana to Joseph Victor and Ollie Mae (Jordan) Bynog, Sr. She was nurses’ aide by profession. Mrs. Harris moved to the area from Porter, Texas in 1975, was a member of Lighthouse Tabernacle in Yellville, and attended the Silver Sneakers.
Mrs. Harris is survived by six sons: James Dowden of Cozahome, Arkansas; Donald Dowden of Yellville, Arkansas; David Dowden of Summit, Arkansas; Victor Dowden of Troy, Missouri; Timothy Dowden of Everton, Arkansas; and John Dowden of Rea Valley, Arkansas;
two daughters: Alice Dowden of Yellville; and Linda Rollins of Ville Platte, Louisiana;
four stepsons;
three brothers: Joseph Bynog, Jr. of Converse, Louisiana; Tansley Bynog, and Randle Bynog, both of Porter, Texas;
two sisters: Lois Dowden, of Porter, Texas; and Jeanette Woods of Yellville, Arkansas;
fifteen grandchildren;
fifteen great-grandchildren;
and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Dowden; and her second husband, Charles Harris;
two sisters: Doris Ellis, and Juanita Bynog;
one son, Jeremiah Dowden;
and one granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth.
Visitation for Mrs. Harris will be Saturday, July 14, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Burns Funeral Home in Yellville.
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Burns Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will be at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Yellville.
