Doris Jean (Purdom) Kindell, age 82 of Yellville, Arkansas, passed away Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas. A daughter of the late Chalmer H. and Irene (Creighton) Clark, she was born September 24, 1929 in Duncansville, Pennsylvania.
She has been a resident of Arkansas for most of her life, and she was a Baptist. She and her husband, Art Purdom, owned and operated Purdom Sawmill in Dodd City, Arkansas for many years. She was an avid quilter and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by a son, Leroy Purdom of Yellville;
a daughter, Nancy Struckle of Harrison;
five grandchildren;
and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands: Art Purdom and Roy Kindell; a son Donald Lee Purdom; her daughter-in-law, Pam Purdom; granddaughter Rogina Renee Evans; and a brother Hobert "Pete" Clark.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, August 6, 2012 at Burns Funeral Home Chapel.
All other services will be private.
