Henry Altvater, age 86, of Flippin, Arkansas passed away Friday, July 13, 2012 at Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Henry was born August 1, 1925 in Dombovar, Hungary to Henry and Anna (Schaffer) Altvater. He had been a manager of a bread company. He immigrated to the United States in 1952 and moved to the area in 1992, coming here from Chicago, Illinois. He was a Life Member of the National Rifle Association.

Henry is survived by his brother Wilhelm Altvater of Lindsey, Ontario;

three grandchildren;

and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Celia, in 1993; a daughter; two brothers; and four sisters.

A graveside service for Mr. Altvater will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 24, 2012, in Layton Cemetery in Yellville, Arkansas.
